Having a job is about more than income: it shapes people's security, plans and sense of purpose. This section shows how many people are employed and in which sectors, how many are actively looking for work, and how many vacancies employers are trying to fill.

It also looks at who takes part in the labour market at all, including the differences between women and men, why some people stay outside it, how many hours people actually work, and how safe their workplaces are.
