Pollution and Waste

Clean air and water are basic conditions for a healthy life. This section shows how much pollution is released into the air, what the air quality is in cities, including fine particles, and how many people are exposed to air that exceeds safety standards.

It also looks at how much waste is generated, including hazardous waste, how much polluted wastewater is released, how many deaths are linked to air pollution and to unsafe water and sanitation, and how much is spent on protecting the environment.
