Calories consumed per person

This metric shows how much food energy, in kilocalories, a person in Armenia consumes in a day, according to the household survey. The chart gives two measures: the median, the level that half of people are above and half below, and the average.

The median fell from 2,064 kcal in 2009 to 1,743 kcal in 2024, and the average from 2,162 to 1,865 kcal. The median was lowest in 2023, at 1,661 kcal. The average was higher than the median in every year shown.

The series is not smooth. The median rose from 1,823 kcal in 2017 to 1,996 kcal in 2018, then dropped to 1,678 kcal in 2019.
