About this metric
A job vacancy is an unfilled job that the employer is looking to fill. The chart shows the number of vacancies in thousands, each year from 2008 to 2024.
In 2024 there were 10.5 thousand vacancies. That equals the highest count of the period, also reached in 2021. The lowest was in 2010: 2.6 thousand.
Vacancies rose from 6.6 thousand in 2018 to 9.3 thousand in 2019 and have stayed between 9.1 and 10.5 thousand since.
