About this metric
When bread and potatoes make up most of what people eat, the diet is usually narrow and less varied. This metric shows what share of Armenia's population has a diet in which more than 70% comes from bread and potatoes, for the country, its towns and its villages.
Nationally the share fell from 17.7% in 2009 to 5.3% in 2024, the lowest of the years shown. It was highest in 2011, at 24.5%.
Villages stay ahead of towns. In 2024, 9.7% of rural residents had such a diet, against 3% of urban residents. The rural share was higher than the urban one in every year shown.
