About this metric
The chart shows current expenditure on environmental protection in Armenia by purpose, in million drams per year: water resources protection, atmospheric air protection, land protection against waste and other hazardous substances, and land treatment (recultivation). The source gives no price basis, so the figures are not adjusted for price changes.
In 2024 total current expenditure was 15,763.2 million drams, the highest in the series. Land protection against waste and other hazardous substances took 9,340.9 million (59%), water resources protection 4,078.7 million, recultivation 1,562.8 million and atmospheric air protection 780.8 million.
Total expenditure was lowest in 2001, at 640.8 million drams. Since 2020 land protection against waste has been the largest of the four parts in every year. Recultivation rose from 364.3 million drams in 2023 to 1,562.8 million in 2024, its highest value.
