Unemployment rate

In Armenia, the unemployment rate is the share of people in the labour force who have no job, are looking for one and are ready to start. This chart shows it for every year from 2001 to 2025.

In 2025 it was 12.8%, down from 13.4% in 2024. The lowest rate in the series was 12.4% in 2023.

The long-term picture is a steep fall. The rate was 38.4% in 2001 and 28.7% in 2007, then dropped to 16.4% in 2008. From 2009 to 2020 it stayed between 16.2% and 19.0%, and from 2021 it fell from 15.5% to 12.4% in 2023, before a small rise in 2024.

The source's survey method was revised in 2018, and the figures from then on cover people aged 15-74.
