Nitrogen oxide emissions by source

Tonnes per year, by source

EEnlightUpdated: Jul 8, 2025

About this metric

Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are air pollutants. The chart shows how many tonnes of them are released into the air in Armenia each year, from stationary sources and from mobile sources. The source's English label says mobile sources; its Armenian label says road vehicles.

In 2024, 19,750 tonnes of nitrogen oxides were emitted, 17,780 tonnes of them (90%) from mobile sources and 1,970 from stationary sources.

Emissions from mobile sources rose from 6,070 tonnes in 2000 to 21,320 in 2021, then fell to 17,780 in 2024. Emissions from stationary sources stayed between 970 (2010) and 4,170 (2001) tonnes in every year shown. The total peaked at 23,510 tonnes in 2021.
