Nitrogen oxide emissions by source

Thousand tonnes per year, by source

EEnlightUpdated: Jul 8, 2025

About this metric

Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are air pollutants. The chart shows how many thousand tonnes of them are released into the air in Armenia each year, from stationary sources and from mobile sources. The source's English label says mobile sources; its Armenian label says road vehicles.

In 2024, 19.75 thousand tonnes of nitrogen oxides were emitted, 17.78 thousand tonnes of them (90%) from mobile sources and 1.97 from stationary sources.

Emissions from mobile sources rose from 6.07 thousand tonnes in 2000 to 21.32 in 2021, then fell to 17.78 in 2024. Emissions from stationary sources stayed between 0.97 (2010) and 4.17 (2001) thousand tonnes in every year shown. The total peaked at 23.51 thousand tonnes in 2021.
