Most journeys start on the road. This section shows how long the public road network is, what surface it has and how it splits into interstate, national and local roads, as well as how many passengers and how much freight travel by road and how far, and how taxis are used.
It also follows road safety: how many road traffic accidents happen each year, and how many people are killed or injured in them.
