The chart splits Armenia's public roads by type of surface, as the Statistical Committee classifies them: capital roads, lightly built roads and transit roads. The split exists from 2009.
In 2024, 4,833.8 km of the 7,533.2 km of public roads were capital roads, 1,059.4 km lightly built and 1,640 km transit roads. In 2009, out of 7,749 km, the figures were 3,863, 1,886 and 2,000 km.
Compare years with care. In 2014 capital roads went from 3,917 to 4,829 km, lightly built roads fell from 1,769 to 1,115 km, and the total fell from 7,792 to 7,568 km. There are similar jumps in 2019 and 2023. The source does not give a reason.
