Economic Growth
Gross domestic product, or GDP, measures the value of everything an economy produces in a year, and its growth is the most common way to tell whether an economy is doing well. This section follows GDP growth over time, GDP per person, and the monthly indicator of economic activity that gives an early signal of where the economy is heading.
It also shows where growth comes from: which sectors are expanding fastest, how the economy is split between consumption, investment and trade, and how much of the value created goes to wages and to profits.
