Family and Households

Much of life happens in the family. This section looks at how families form and change: how many couples marry and divorce each year, how many people live in a household and how households are made up, and whether newborns are first, second or later children.

It also covers children growing up without parental care: how many live in children's homes, and how many are adopted each year by local and foreign families.
