In 2024, general-purpose transport carried 16.8 million tonnes of freight and 246.8 million passengers. Freight transport fluctuated in recent years, increasing in 2022 and then declining in 2023–2024. Passenger transport gradually recovered after the sharp fall in 2020 and reached the highest level of the recent observed years in 2024.
