Working pensioners

Some pensioners keep working. The chart shows the number of working pensioners from 2016 to 2025, for recipients of labour pensions and pensions defined by other laws together.

From 73,942 in 2016 the number fell to 61,367 in 2017, the lowest of the years shown, then rose every year, reaching 106,305 in 2024 and 128,010 in 2025, the highest. The rise in 2025 (21,705) is the largest one-year increase.

Recipients of military service pensions are not included in this table.
