Registered people with disabilities by age
Number of registered people, in total and by age group, per year
About this metric
Armenia keeps a register of people with disabilities. The chart shows how many were registered each year from 2010 to 2024, in total and in four age groups: under 18, 18 to 40, 40 to retirement age, and retirement age and older. The groups do not overlap, and the total is their sum.
The register held 185,080 people in 2010 and peaked at 205,166 in 2016. It then fell, to 184,077 in 2023 and 161,459 in 2024, the lowest in the period. The drop of 22,618 between 2023 and 2024 is the largest in a single year.
The age mix shifted. People of retirement age and older rose from 47,759 in 2011 to 91,746 in 2023, and in 2020 they became the largest group, overtaking the group aged 40 to retirement age, which fell from 101,660 in 2016 to 48,329 in 2024. In 2024 there were 16,306 registered people aged 18 to 40 and 6,492 under 18.
