Minimum and average monthly wage

The chart compares the minimum monthly wage set by law with the average monthly wage, since 2012. Both are nominal, that is, not adjusted for inflation.

The minimum wage rose from 32,500 AMD in 2012 to 75,000 AMD in 2023 and stayed there in 2024. It changes in steps: it was 55,000 AMD from 2015 to 2019.

Over the same years the average wage went from 140,739 AMD to 287,172 AMD, about twice as much. The minimum was 23.1% of the average in 2012, 35.8% in 2020 (the highest) and 26.1% in 2024.
