Households by size

Household size shows how many people live together. The chart shows the number of households of each size, from one person to ten or more, according to the 2022 census.

The most common household has two people: 183,512 households. One-person households come next (147,644), followed by households of four (145,435) and three (144,308).

Larger households are less common: 106,215 households have five people and 76,107 have six. Households of seven or more number 54,324 in total. In all, the census counted 857,545 households.
