Consumption, investment and net exports

% of GDP, by expenditure component

EEnlightUpdated: Aug 31, 2026

About this metric

This metric shows how Armenia's GDP is used, from 2012 to 2025: the share that goes to consumption (households, non-profit institutions and government), the share that goes to investment (gross capital formation), and net exports, the difference between exports and imports of goods and services.

In 2025 consumption was 83% of GDP, investment 24.1% and net exports -7%. Net exports are negative when imports are larger than exports, and they were negative in every year shown.

The share of consumption fell from 96.8% in 2012 (98.7% in 2013, the highest) to 79.2% in 2023, then rose to 83% in 2025. Net exports moved the other way: from -20.8% in 2012 to -1.9% in 2022, the closest to zero, and back to -7% in 2025.

The share of investment has stayed between 17.4% (2019) and 24.7% (2012). In 2025 it was 24.1%.
