EEnlightUpdated: Dec 16, 2025

About this metric

The chart shows the share of electricity lost in publicly owned networks. It is computed as network losses divided by the electricity available, that is produced plus imported electricity, in percent.

In 2024 losses were 6.5% of the available electricity, equal to the lowest value of the period (also 6.5% in 2022). The highest was 14.1% in 2009.

From 11.7% in 2014 the share fell every year to 6.9% in 2019, and since 2019 it has stayed between 6.5% and 7%.
