Greenhouse gas emissions
Thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalent (kt), inventory years
About this metric
Greenhouse gas emissions show how much carbon dioxide equivalent Armenia emits in a year. The chart shows two values for each inventory year from 1990 to 2022: total emissions, and net emissions after land use, land use change and forestry are counted.
In 2022, total emissions were 13.3 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent and net emissions were 12.9 million tonnes. Land use, land use change and forestry lowered the total by 0.4 million tonnes that year.
In 1990 total emissions were 26.8 million tonnes (net 26.0), the highest value shown. They fell to 7.1 million tonnes in 2000, the lowest, and reached 13.3 million in 2022, about half of the 1990 level and the highest since 1990. The chart shows inventory years only: 1990, 2000, 2005, 2010 and each year from 2015.
