Energy import dependence

Net imports as % of total primary energy supply

EEnlightUpdated: Feb 25, 2026

About this metric

Energy import dependence shows what share of Armenia's total primary energy supply is covered by net imports, that is, imports minus exports. The chart shows this share in percent for each year. The source states no unit for its energy figures, so only the share is shown.

In 2024 net imports made up 76.2% of the supply. The share rose every year from 67.7% in 2015 to 78.9% in 2021, the highest value in the period shown. The largest rise in a single year came in 2018, from 69.0% to 73.5%.

After 2021 the share fell to 76.9% in 2022, rose to 77.6% in 2023 and fell again to 76.2% in 2024. The source counts nuclear energy as domestic production, so this share understates dependence on imported fuel.
