Farm prices of crops and livestock

This metric compares how the sale prices of crop products and of livestock products changed each year, from 1998 to 2025. Each line shows the change on the previous year.

Crop prices swing much more. They ranged from a fall of 35.5% in 2015 to a rise of 46.4% in 2010, while livestock prices ranged from a fall of 10.3% in 1999 to a rise of 27.6% in 2011. Crop prices fell in 13 of the 28 years and livestock prices in 12. In 9 of them (1999, 2000, 2009, 2012, 2015, 2019, 2020, 2023 and 2024) both fell.

In 2025 crop prices rose by 7.3% and livestock prices by 2.3%. In 2023 crop prices fell by 12.8% and livestock prices by 1.1%.
