Trade and Services

Trade turnover includes retail trade, wholesale trade, and trade in motor vehicles. Retail trade covers the sale of consumer goods intended for final consumption or household use through shops, kiosks, other retail outlets, and marketplaces.

Commodity stocks are calculated as of the first day of each month and expressed in days of trade turnover. Wholesale trade refers to the purchase of goods in large quantities for resale to other sellers or processors, but not to final consumers.

The services indicator covers activities such as accommodation and food service, culture, entertainment and recreation, education, healthcare and social services, real estate, information and communication, transport, and professional, scientific, and technical activities.
