Population and Demographics
How many people live in a country, and how old they are, shapes almost everything else, from schools and jobs to pensions and healthcare. This section shows how the population changes over time, how many children are born and how many people die each year, and how the population is divided between towns and villages.
Using the latest census, it also shows the population's age, sex and ethnic makeup, and follows a lighter trend too: the names parents choose most often for their newborns.
