About this metric
This metric shows the average price in shops across Armenia of four everyday foods: wheat bread, rice, sugar and potatoes. Prices are in drams per kilogram, one average for each year from 1999 to 2025.
Over these years prices rose for all four. Bread went from 263 to 612 drams per kg in 2025, more than doubling. Rice more than tripled, from 313 to 990 drams, and potatoes rose from 127 to 320 drams. Sugar rose from 239 to 368 drams.
Some prices move a lot from year to year. Potatoes ranged from 107 drams in 2000 to 352 in 2022. Sugar peaked at 454 drams in 2012 and was 368 in 2025. Rice reached 1,036 drams in 2022 and was 990 in 2025.
