Preschool enrollment rate

The enrollment rate shows what share of children of a given age attend preschool institutions. The chart shows it separately for children aged 3-5 and aged 0-2, since 2010.

Among children aged 3-5 the rate rose from 45% in 2010 to 74.1% in 2025, the highest of the years shown. In 2020 it fell to 43.5% from 61.3% in 2019, and in 2021 it was back at 64.3%. It has risen every year since 2022.

For children aged 0-2 the rate is much lower. It slipped from 6.3% in 2010 to 2.5% in 2021, then recovered to 5.7% in 2025.
