Repeaters and school dropouts

Pupils of general schools, per year

EEnlightUpdated: Jun 12, 2026

About this metric

Repeaters are pupils who stay in the same grade for a second year. The other line counts pupils who left school without finishing their studies. The chart shows both for Armenia's general schools, each year from 2011 to 2024.

The number of repeaters has moved up and down without a clear direction, from 453 in 2011 to 2,077 in 2015. In 2024 there were 605, down from 1,829 in 2023.

Leaving school without finishing has become much rarer: from 758 pupils in 2011 and a peak of 1,070 in 2012, to fewer than 400 every year since 2014 and 82 in 2024, the lowest of the years shown.
