Living space per person

This indicator shows how much of the total floor area of the housing stock falls, on average, to each resident: across the country, and in urban and rural communities. The chart covers 2016 to 2024.

In 2024, each resident had 33.2 square metres nationwide: 28.8 in urban communities and 41.3 in rural ones. Rural communities are higher than urban ones in every year shown.

In 2016 the national figure was 31.4. It mostly grew until 2023, when it reached 36.4, the highest value in the period, although it dipped slightly in 2018 (from 31.9 to 31.6). In 2024 it fell by 3.2 square metres, from 36.4 to 33.2, and the source gives no reason.
