Low birth weight

The chart shows what share of live births in Armenia's obstetric care institutions weighed under 2,500 g at birth. It is calculated from the source's weight bands (500-999, 1,000-1,499, 1,500-1,999 and 2,000-2,499 g) divided by all live births. The table has no band below 500 g.

The share was 7.8% in 2011 and 8.7% in 2025. The highest value in the period was 10.2% in 2017, and the lowest was 7.8% in 2011.

In 2025, 2,793 of 31,930 live births weighed under 2,500 g, against 3,331 of 42,882 in 2011.
