About this metric
The 2014 Agricultural Census counted the machinery and equipment owned by agricultural holdings. The chart shows the number of items of thirteen types, with holdings with and without legal status added together.
Trucks are the most numerous, at 13,096, followed by mowers (10,191) and wheel tractors (8,704). There were also 2,421 caterpillar tractors, 1,129 tractor sprayers and 819 combine harvesters.
Holdings with legal status own only 1,075 of the 50,010 items shown (2.1%). The census also counted 15,329 items of milk processing equipment, 386 refrigerating facilities for milk storage and 42,640 items of other equipment, which are not shown.
