About this metric
The chart compares the wheat produced in Armenia with the wheat imported into it. The figures are in thousand tons, from the national food balance.
In 2025, 132.7 thousand tons of wheat were produced and 442.5 thousand tons were imported, about 3.3 times as much.
Since 2005, production has fallen from 258.4 to 132.7 thousand tons. Its highest value was in 2015, at 362.7, and its lowest in 2021, at 97.2 thousand tons. Imports were 335.6 in 2005 and 442.5 in 2025, and ranged between 320.8 (2006) and 502.7 (2012) over the years.
Imports exceeded production in 20 of the 21 years. The only exception is 2016, when 350.4 were produced and 323.8 imported.
