In 2024, general-purpose railways carried 711.4 thousand tonnes of imported freight, 346.7 thousand tonnes of exported freight and 384.4 thousand tonnes of domestic freight.
Domestic freight grew from 740.8 thousand tonnes (2007) to its highest value, 2,152.1 thousand tonnes, in 2022, then fell to 976.3 (2023) and 384.4 thousand tonnes (2024).
Imported freight fell from 1,534.1 thousand tonnes (2007) to 711.4 thousand tonnes (2024), and exported freight from 708.8 to 346.7 thousand tonnes.
