Road freight to and from abroad
Thousand tonnes, by general-purpose road freight transport, per year
About this metric
Road freight transport carries goods across the border as well as inside the country. The chart shows two flows of general-purpose road freight: goods taken out of Armenia (exports) and goods brought in (imports), in thousand tonnes.
In 2024, road transport carried 4,303.7 thousand tonnes of imported freight and 928.5 thousand tonnes of exported freight. Imports were more than four times exports.
Both flows are at their highest in 2024 and at their lowest in 2009 (imports 664.4, exports 165.7). Since 2007 imports have grown more than six times (from 700) and exports more than three times (from 277.9). Imports fell in 2020 and 2021 (3,083.3 and 3,033.2, after 3,168.7 in 2019).
