What's in the consumer basket in 2025

The consumer price index tracks how prices change, and each group of goods and services counts in it according to its weight. This metric shows the weights of the 12 main groups in the index for 2025, in percent of the total.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks weigh the most, 40.3% of the index. Housing, water, electricity and gas come next with 16.3%, then health with 10.7%. These three groups together make up 67.4%.

At the other end, recreation and culture weighs 0.7%, restaurants and hotels 2.2% and education 2.3%. The twelve weights add up to 100%.
